Highlights & Lowlights
1. On being fired for his crack about the Rutgers women's basketball team, Don Imus said, "What happened is what should have happened."
2. He has hired two black cast members: Tony Powell and Karith Foster. Monday, neither had a major role but then none of the cast did.
3. He said the show's basic premises would remain the same: "Dick Cheney is still a war criminal and Hillary Clinton is still Satan."
4. Several regular guests were back but appearances were uneven. Doris Kearns Goodwin didn't get much time, John McCain seemed punchy, Chris Dodd and the James Carville/Mary Matalin team went fine.
5. Imus looked self-conscious and uneasy on the show, which has some - but not all - of its advertisers back.
